Video: Olympic Torch Relay

It was really great to to see so many people out on the streets today as the Olympic Torch Relay made its way through the Medway Towns.

I decided to go and watch the fun and games down at Boley Hill in Rochester and I was heartened to see that so many people had made the effort to turn out. I was especially pleased to see so many schools had made provisions to allow pupils to attend this once-in-a-lifetime event. We can do events in Medway, and I have to say that the overall management of the Torch Relay this morning was superb.

Well done to all concerned!

If I have one criticism, it’s that, despite the best efforts of a number of people, we didn’t get to see Jack Denness carry the torch. That really would have been the icing on the cake.
