Looking forward to this year’s Sweeps Festival which takes place in Rochester over the May Day bank holiday weekend. Hope to see you there!
This is a video which I recorded at the 2010 event to get you in the mood:
If you have never experienced the Rochester Sweeps Festival, all I can say is you don’t know what you’re missing!
This is a unique celebration of the coming of Spring, which also commemorates the traditional holiday for chimney sweeps, or climbing boys as they were also known.

After an exceptionally crowd-pleasing Rochester Castle Concerts last year which included artists such as Go West, Tony Hadley and Status Quo, this year’s line-up of artists has finally been confirmed with the announcement today that Level 42, supported by Shakatak, will be kicking off the series of shows on Wednesday 16th July.
For those who have never yet had the opportunity to attend one of the Rochester Castle Concerts in Medway, I would strongly urge you to consider doing so this year. Whilst the UB40 concert is already a sell-out, tickets are now on general sale for Westlife’s Shane Filan, Level 42 (announced today), and Saturday night’s traditional classical spectacular The Proms. A warm welcome is guaranteed in one of the most spectacular and special concert venues in the whole of the UK.
Weds 16th July – Level 42 with Shakatak
Thurs 17th July – Shane Filan with Jamie Johnson
Fri 18th July – UB40
Sat 19th July – Castle Proms
Sun 20th July – Under Siege

For those of a certain age, this is, and always will be, THE movie and soundtrack of the late 80s. Enjoy!
