Rochester Castle Concerts 2014

After an exceptionally crowd-pleasing Rochester Castle Concerts last year which included artists such as Go West, Tony Hadley and Status Quo, this year’s line-up of artists has finally been confirmed with the announcement today that Level 42, supported by Shakatak, will be kicking off the series of shows on Wednesday 16th July.

For those who have never yet had the opportunity to attend one of the Rochester Castle Concerts in Medway, I would strongly urge you to consider doing so this year. Whilst the UB40 concert is already a sell-out, tickets are now on general sale for Westlife’s Shane Filan, Level 42 (announced today), and Saturday night’s traditional classical spectacular The Proms. A warm welcome is guaranteed in one of the most spectacular and special concert venues in the whole of the UK.

L42_DVD-134This year’s line-up:

Weds 16th July – Level 42 with Shakatak

Thurs 17th July – Shane Filan with Jamie Johnson

Fri 18th July – UB40

Sat 19th July – Castle Proms

Sun 20th July – Under Siege

A fine day in Medway…

The view over the river Medway from St Margaret’s Church, Rochester sure is hard to beat on a lovely Spring day. Taken with my Nokia Lumia 925.

Nokia Lumia 925 Photo Samples

A selection of unfiltered photos taken with my new Nokia Lumia 925. As a long time amateur smartphone photographer, I was somewhat sceptical of the boasts being made about the 925’s capabilities, particularly given my penchant for Nokia’s previous optical monster, the 12Mp N8 – brilliantly constructed phone, superior in my mind to the iPhone, but sadly let down by an unpopular OS (Symbian).

However, despite being only rated at 8.7Mp, my initial observations of the Lumia 925’s photographic ability are good, particularly in low light situations as shown below. But don’t take my word for it, see for yourself…
